Digital Culture Reflective Essay on blogs

Digital Culture Reflective Essay on blogs
INTRODUCTION
In the first term of university we were asked to pick additional subjects we would like to add to our individual timetables, one of the 3 options which were made available to me as I was an undergraduate journalism student was digital culture and as I was reading the unit abstract I knew that I would enjoy this topic very much as it was exploring many topics within the digital world which I find somewhat interesting.
Term 1 UNIT UNDERSTANDING
The unit abstract basically highlighted some of the areas this subject will cover. Judging by the title digital culture it instantly gives you a clue as to what this unit is all about. The moment I heard digital culture I immediately thought that this subject will be specifically focusing on the digital media and its correspondence with and relation to different cultures and traditions. Little did I know that through this unit I would gain a lot of understanding and a change of view point as there are many different  formations of the word digital not only from a media prospective.
In the first 3 month of our first term we had an introduction into digital culture and its significance in the world today and how digital media and technology are related to and influence much of what we do today. One specific lecture I can remember was when we were focusing more around the digital bodies and how manufactures around the world are making more machineries and technological devices to work think and operate like a human  doing practically everything and anything. Most of which I personally find very dehumanizing and pointless. For instance Google glasses is a voice operated computerized automatic glass which does everything you tell it to do I would personally refer to it as a human navigation system. This would have to be one of the most profound creations to come out in 2013 although I don’t think it’s out in shops yet I feel that the financial market could benefit a great profit from this latest invention.
We also discussed in our blogs about the different affects and ways of media change and how the media industry and technology share a mutual bond in coming together to create devices that make it easier for people to gain access to news, notification, announcements etc direct on the go. One of the many devices include smart phone and ipads which have become more and more popular and gained recognition in recent years
As well as focusing on the digital minds and bodies we also looked closely at the media and technology in different aspects. We also looked at laws and regulation of privacy online through popular social network sites such as myspace, bebo, twitter and the most common one which nearly over a dozen people have access to which is facebook.  Facebook is a social networking site that is used by many through facebook people share quotes , pictures , videos, as well as their personal information when setting up there account facebook allows you to inbox friends and meet new friends it helps you stay in contact with loved ones and those who you have lost contact with. In our digital culture workshops I discovered more of an understanding in to how facebook as a corporation works in terms of privacy. We also had a task set out to us by Gavin which was to revisit our old pictures and statues and see how our mentality has changed along with our appearance and the way in which we choose to pose in pictures as well as pictures and statues facebook usually take it upon themselves to try and promote and sell you things just based on your preference of music, books, style, celeb and any other interests you might of notified facebook of.
Technology whether digital or not is not only excelling in more ways than one but it is refining and changing the way we think and feel about almost everything  as it affects most of our daily lives.
Term 2 UNITS UNDERSTANDING
As we entered our second term in our digital culture lectures our focus area and topics for blogs elevated more towards the cyber warfare and information hacking side of technology. This involved research into different types of hacking and warfare. As I started my blog on cyber warfare I began to take interest in information warfare which has a lot to do with the government and the employment of a specific nation’s private information whereas cyber war fare is simply focusing mainly of the hacking through computerized technologies and devices. The word/phrase cyber basically means all matters that are considered and believed to be computer generated, and the term warfare basically means the force of an operation or act being carried out in a desperate attempt to sabotage.
In this term we also looked at other issues all that have a similar correspondence to what was discussed and communicated in term one in order for us to develop a mature understanding of digital technology in diverse traditions. I had many blogs to complete for both terms the purpose of these blogs was in actual fact to see what I have picked up on in lectures and also for me to elaborate on my personal opinion views and understanding to be shared. One of my many blogs for the second term was based around the topic of democracy not only from a political point of view but also from a media prospective. One of my favorite blogs from term 2 would have to be ‘how the media informs us about democracy’ the reason as to why it is my favorite blog of this term is simply because I thoroughly enjoyed researching about this topic as it interested me very much so.  I enjoyed writing up my blog for this question as I was very opinionated about this matter in question and my blog was my very own way in which I could express my views and thoughts about both democracy and media. Media plays huge influential role not only when it comes to democracy issues but society as a whole. There are many job roles journalism being the most common that inform and keep the public informed of political, government and current issues that are taking place around the world
CONCLUSION
All things considered I would gladly say that through my digital culture lectures I was able to get a better understanding of the various types of technology along with how it has refined and incorporate with modern day culture. I also hope that I demonstrated and elaborated on my perceptive of the digital technology/ media and culture within the world we live in today.

     Digital Media Systems
As part of my digital culture blogs for term 2 I have been discussing how digital media have impacted upon our concepts of the media text. This blog that I am doing now will be somewhat linked to my previous ones in this particular blog I will be making points about and elaborating on how the ways in which digital convergence facilitates a media ecology of connected, threshold elements.
First off I would like to start by explaining exactly what digital convergence refers to and what it means. Digital convergence is the preparation of essential digital technology mechanisms and qualities such as voice, texts, video, pictures, broadcasts, presentation, streaming media, global connectivity and personalized services; the mixture of all of these characteristics and abilities from numerous electronic systems into a easy, converge and computer-mediated communication system to enable individuals interact, play, communicate, collaborate and share information in many new and diverse ways.
Through digital culture you have the ability to connect and put together much narrative text beside images which might be viewed upon as part of the media systems. We are also able to take real life situations and place them in electronic games to make the game seem more humanized and realistic

From Open Source to an Open Movement
The 21st century saw the rise of the  computer industry in terms of hardware and software sales in both the UK and the us financial market as well as how Microsoft windows has matured and progressed in recent years  from 1992 to 2012 the colors scheme of Microsoft windows has changed dramatically along with the logo. Another approaching subject matter is that between socialism and capitalism and what makes them alike with what separates the two.   Both capitalism and socialism are more alike than we think as both parties are contrasting institutes of reflection in economics the fundamental cause  of most of the arguments regarding the socialism and capitalism debates are mostly about the economic equality and the role in which the government plays in all of this. Socialist are quiet expressive when articulating there belief which is that the economic inequality is bad for society and the government is held responsible  for  this deduction by means of programs that the poor can benefit from e.g. free public education, free or subsidized healthcare, social security for the elderly, higher taxes on the rich.
However in contrast to the socialist, capitalist believe that  the government does not take advantage of the economic possessions efficiently as part of a private enterprise so therefore society is better off with the free market determining economic winners and losers. The U.S is one of the most broadly measured strongholds of capitalism and great components of Scandinavia and Western Europe are socialist democracies. Nevertheless, in all honesty the majority of urbanized nations have a number of programs that are seen to be socialist.
Wikinomics
Wikinomics is a term that describes the effects of extensive collaboration and user-participation on the marketplace and corporate world. Don Tapscott and Anthony D. Williams popularized the term in their book, Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes everything, published in December 2006. The word itself is constructed from wiki (a server program that allows users to collaborate on a Web site) and economics.

 Internet & Tagging
We live in a theoretical world where we can enhance our knowledge and gain more understanding about practically anything and furthermore challenge our minds as well as reshape our mindsets and the way we think , feel about certain things that are happening in and around the world. This is all thanks to modern technical devices and new media being exposed to us for instance the internet/worldwide web would have to be one of the most fastest search engines to ever be created, this formation has helped us greatly as now humans have excelled there natural capability to search , research and find things. It has made life and many things including education a whole lot easier to accomplish.
In my earlier blogs I was discussing the offense of hacking together with cyber warfare which leads me to linking these two blogs together as they both communicate well with each other. The reason why I think this is because both share a close bond with internet safety regulations. As many of us use many networks through the internet one of the popular ones being social network you begin to wonder and ask ‘how safe is it?’ I mean a vast amount of the public share lots of information about themselves such as age, name, hometown, address, university/schools, course etc, this allows facebook database to create their own personal profile of you as an individual by just using the information you have shared along with music, photos and pictures that you have either liked or are tagged in.
Folksonomy
"Folksonomy is the result of personal free tagging of information for one's own retrieval. The tagging is done in a social environment (usually shared and open to others) by the person consuming the information."
Metadata
Metadata summarizes basic information about data, which can make finding and working with particular instances of data easier. For example, author, date created and date modified and file size are examples of very basic document metadata.  Having the ability to filter through that metadata makes it much easier for someone to locate a specific document.
Tagging
A tag is a keyword used to describe an article or website. Tags are often used in social bookmarking, social news and blog entries to help users search for relevant content.

The Death of Democracy
In my pervious blogs I was talking about the different ways in which the digital media world has helped inform us about democracy and also how it has shaped our concept of democracy. In this blog I will also be focusing on democracy but not on how we are informed about it through the media but more about democracy as a whole and the ways in which it is represented to us.  I will also be discussing abit about habermases theory and its influence towards democracy.
Direct democracy - One category of democratic system is direct democracy; direct democracy is basically when the right of every citizen who is over the age limit is allowed to attend political gatherings/congregations and  is also allowed to partake and vote on important issues being raised and discussed at political meetings. One major section of direct democracy is that everyone involved has the right to hold political responsibility if they wish to do so. This type of democracy also accepts that everyone who has the power to should with great force take part in the organization so that the representation of the people can have a serious impact on any law that is passed on as it will have many votes from the majority.
Representative Democracy - An additional type of democracy is representative democracy; before I go on to explain exactly what representative democracy is it is made apparent and clearly obvious to us from the first word which is ‘representative’ often when this word is mentioned it can mean one of two things which can either be seen in a positive and negative light. One which is when you are representing a country or a group of individuals for example prime minister, president, mayor, council etc, all of these are considered as representatives for the general public. However on the other hand every so often through the media and politics false representations are given out about a political party or Mp which influence and help mould people’s opinions and views about them, this is a fine example of a negative representation and outlook.
a good example of representative democracy would have to be great Britain as it is one of the few countries where citizens which are 18 and over gather to vote and elect a representative for their country this chosen representative will be held responsible for making important decisions about various topics such as travel fares/ school fees/ and other economic issues and changes. These elections take place every 5 years and the winning Mp becomes a representative for the general public in parliament. All the Mp’s assemble together in the House of Commons with the main intention to discuss important matters and pass on laws.
As part of my other assignments for journalism I was assigned to do an essay about Jurgen Habermas and his theory about the well speculated public sphere when doing my research I found that the public sphere and democracy slightly correspond in a way, because in the public sphere people would gather in various locations of coffee shops to discuss important and political issues and vote amongst themselves. This can be seen as a form of direct and representative democracy.
      The commercialization of The Internet
We live in a generation where most of us use the internet and are influenced  by the web on a daily basis  we all use the internet for various purposes for education, work , social networking etc   within this blog I will be looking at and analyzing the commercialization  of the internet along with its development.
The internet alone has reformed the digital and interaction world tremendously.  As many inventions such as that of the telegraph telephone, radio and computer prepare for this exceptional combination of ability. As the internet is becoming more up to date and modern  we are all beginning to notice the internet as a mechanism for information dissemination, and a common place for  association and intercommunication between social groups and their computers without the need for any geographic location.
The internet/ the worldwide web is often seen as a widespread information base, the primary example of what is often referred to as the National Information foundation.  It has a complex history which includes a variety of features these many aspects could be either one of the following examples technological, organizational, and community
The Internet was commercialized in 1995 when NSFNET was decommissioned, removing the last restrictions on the use of the Internet to carry commercial traffic. Since the mid-1990s, the Internet has had a revolutionary impact on culture and commerce, including the rise of near-instant communication by electronic mail, instant messaging, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) "phone calls", two-way interactive video calls, and the World Wide Web with its discussion forums, blogs, social networking, and online shopping sites

GAMES CULTURE ‘2
In my previous blog I was looking at and discussing about how the formation of various types of games have started to play a serious part in our culture. I was also paying close attention to the art of video gaming and its history also looking at how it has been reshaped throughout the years, as more and more video games are becoming more modernized not only in the way in which it is played but also considering all aspects of the games and what it includes.
Whilst analyzing gaming in its different forms you begin to ask various question such as ‘what makes games fun?’ most games that are played on online sites or at home on a consel often involve interaction between 2 players as they communicate with each other using control pads and headphone this can excitement and be considered as fun by both the players also characters and narratives within the game can also make them more enthusiastic to play. They will also be able to pick up a few skills and techniques along the way on how to play. There are also different strategies of playing games along with actions, methods, etc.
 Game Theory
Set of concepts aimed at decision making in situations of competition and conflict (as well as of cooperation and interdependence) under specified rules. Game theory employs games of strategy (such as chess) but not of chance (such as rolling a dice). A strategic game represents a situation where two or more participants are faced with choices of action, by which each may gain or lose, depending on what others choose to do or not to do. The final outcome of a game, therefore, is determined jointly by the strategies chosen by all participants.

Games culture
The way in which we theorise, look at and even play games has changed tremendously throughout the years as more and more of us are finding new ways and traditions of playing games the most common form of playing games is through technological devises and through the digital media. In this blog I will be going through the different forms of gaming culture and how us as individuals view games and whether we think it is or isn’t a significant part of our generation/ history.
There are many different types of games played through the media and digital software one of them commonly known as ‘social network games’, social network games are easy to access through various social networking sites but more through facebook. These particular types of online gaming consist of a few multiplayers’ that verse each other through online gaming. More than often games that are played through social networking are also referred to as browser games.
The history of gaming
The history of the computer game is, in parts, a history of technology. The computer game requires technology capable of handling large amounts of data and of representing this data. The relationship between a technological phenomenon such as the computer and the less formally based culture is not a simple one: some theories will claim that technology determines culture; some will claim that culture determines technology. It may be most reasonable to see this as a history of mutual influences, where technology can inspire (or enable) cultural developments and cultural developments can inspire new technology. To quote an obvious example, the computer game was originally developed on equipment designed for military and academic purposes. But today the computer game is the driving force in the development of much hardware such as 3d graphics accelerators.

Globalization, Technicity and the Digital Divide
The term globalization is often used when referring to or talking about the spread and correspondence between production, communication, and technologies across the globe. As a phrase globalization accommodates a variety of profitable changes these changes can range from being social to political along with economic changes. With all that being said globalization also increases and even speeds up the trade of ideas and commodities over immense space. The impacts of globalization are often best understood at the local level many cases of globalization explore the various manifestations of interconnectedness in the world, nothing about how globalization affects real people and places.
Globalization repeatedly becomes known as being a force of the natural world, an experience that takes place and avoids limits or substitutes. However the association of individuals has revealed that globalization is neither unchangeable nor predictable. Societies from in and around  the world normal people from the global north and south can work together to form alternate futures, to build a globalization of cooperation, solidarity and respect for our common planetary environment.
Cultural globalization.
Another type of globalization is ‘cultural globalization’ which communicates the transmission of ideas, meanings and values universally. This course of action is evident by the common utilization of traditions that are beginning to be circulated by the internet, fashionable culture and global travel. This particular circulation of various cultures and traditions allows individuals to participate in extensive social affairs outside without having any limitations. The formation and growth of these social relations are not observed on any material level.
Digital divide - A term used to describe the discrepancy between people who have access to and the resources to use new information and communication tools, such as the Internet, and people who do not have the resources and access to the technology. The term also describes the discrepancy between those who have the skills, knowledge and abilities to use the technologies and those who do not. The digital divide can exist between those living in rural areas and those living in urban areas, between the educated and uneducated, between economic classes, and on a global scale between more and less industrially developed nations.

                  CYBERWARFARE

In terms of action cyber warfare usually occurs when individuals take it upon them elves to abuse computers, electronics and technological devices in a desperate attempt and also with the intention of  to gain access and hack into the oppositions information system.
Cyber warfare corresponds well with information warfare as they can somehow relate to each other for instance information warfare is the transportation of communication through the usage of electronics and the internet to suspend. Telecommunication, power supply and transport in a particular region.
With regards to modern day social media and networking I would say that, in recent years popular social networking sites such as facebook and twitter have gained a lot of users as it is one of many diverse ways in which distant, close, and long lost friends, associates, family etc can keep in touch all because of the use of technology and the internet. With that being said I would also add that when starting up facebook/twitter etc you share a lot of personal information about yourself which automatically gets saved on to the facebook database and is available to be viewed by many.
This makes social media and networking an easy target for hacking which is considered as cyber warfare in view of the fact that it is common knowledge that a lot of private/ personal information, pictures messages are all being distributed through facebook so therefore hackers will gain a lot of informative profiles on individuals by just abusing and hacking there account.
Cyber warfare is Internet-based conflict involving politically motivated attacks on information and information systems. Cyber warfare attacks can disable official websites and networks, disrupt or disable essential services, steal or alter classified data, and cripple financial systems -- among many other possibilities.

How the Media Informs Us about Democracy

The media plays a huge role in most societies, and is considered to be a very significant tool as it is the main reason behind us finding out what’s going on in and around where we live as well as in different parts of the world.
There are various forms of the media which all do pretty much the same thing just in different ways. For example newspapers and tabloids inform us to a great extent as most individuals buy the times, the sun, the daily mirror etc on their way to work or even on the go and through these various forms of media we are able to gain valuable information and also enhance our knowledge about current affairs and government issues when it comes to to democracy.

Media democracy is a set of ideas advocating reforming the mass media, strengthening public service broadcasting, and developing and participating in alternative media and citizen journalism. The stated purpose for doing so is to create a mass media system that informs and empowers all members of society, and enhances democratic values. It is a liberal-democratic approach to media studies that advocates the reformation of the mass media with an emphasis on public service broadcasting and audience participation, through the use of citizen journalism and alternative media channels. A media democracy focuses on using information technologies to both empower individual citizens and promote democratic ideals through the spread of information

Artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence is becoming more and more frequent in our generation with many films and games showing the rise of robotics and other machineries. Humans have recently started to ask silly questions such as will humans really replace robots?? Recent researchers have commented that they think humans and robots are becoming more and more intimate in many ways. And humans have started to view robotics in a whole new different way.
Artificial intelligence is the intelligence of machines and robots and the branch of computer science that aims to create it. AI textbooks define the field as "the study and design of intelligent agents"[1] where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chances of success -wikipedia

Digital Voices

During the industrialised revelation that took place in the mid 1970’s, many changes and developments started to occur in the world of technology and media for instance printing cooperation’s were made available to us at that time and then came the 1980’s and 90’s which opened allot of doors regarding the world of media technology and the correspondence it has with communication. On the matter of communication during the 90’[s era we were exposed to the rise of the internet and the World Wide Web in which people use to share information and receive information. Society today has taken a much modern approach when using the internet as more than a dozen of us nowadays mainly use the internet as a form of communication. All communications that take place using electronic devices such as the internet and web all come under the category of and are considered as media communication, as it is the use of media and conversation coming together as one.
Most technologies described as "new media" are digital, often having characteristics of being manipulated, networkable, dense, compressible, and interactive.[1] Some examples may be the Internet, websites, computer multimedia, video games, CD-ROMS, and DVDs. New media does not include television programs, feature films, magazines, books, or paper-based publications – unless they contain technologies that enable digital interactivity. – Wikipedia
Thanks to modern day media and the discovery of internet the general public are now able to share and televise their voices digitally and freely over the net. These voice shared is a way in which they can share their views on currently revolving topics and

The digital mind

The close relationship between technology and humans is ever growing and is circulating tremendously, now more than ever the bond between the two is becoming noticeably intimate with more than a dozen of us acknowledging digital media and the effects it has on the human body.
This is mainly based on the body and to be precise the human mindset as our concepts of technology are beginning to change due to the vast amounts of new technologies being brought forward by large corporations. Along with how we feel and think about old existing and latest technological changes taking place in the world. The human mind is a very powerful appendage and as human beings it is a necessity for us to use our brain/minds to think. We often use our minds to stimulate information to adapt to certain societies and cultures most of all we use it to think particularly thinking is a huge aspect of the human body.

Digital Misunderstanding

In this blog I will be going into detail about the captivating concepts of the media and the history of the World Wide Web, I will also elaborate on the mythologies of early digital media an all characteristics surrounding it.
As we are all aware the internet plays a huge role in the society we live in today as it distributes out significant and relevant information.  Many misunderstandings have come from the internet most of which all come from cultural assumptions and stereotypes. There are numerous cultural sectors that were very important and also transformed our cultural perception of the internet.
First and foremost the internet has been around for many years and started with the expansion electronic computers during the late 1950s. As a result of the internet creative thinking was brought to light by people in the early 1960s who witnessed great potential value in allowing computers to share information on research along with the development in immense scientific and military fields.
The main intention of the internet was so that was it can provide a beneficial communications network that would work even if some of the other major sites weren’t working. If one of the connection routes weren’t processing routers would traffic around the local area to find alternatives. Near the beginning internet was primarily used by computer specialist, engineers, scientist, and even librarians, no home office or computers were available in those days, and anyone who had access to it. Computer specialist had to learn this very complex system. Even though the number of websites on the internet were very miniature, it was quite easy to keep a record of the resources of particular interest. But for more and more institution of higher education and libraries the internet became harder to track.

THE DIGITAL BODY

Recent studies have shown that the correlation between humans and digital technology is on the rise, within more than a few well-off countries consuming the latest devices and gadgets that help generate human interface and also keep it current. The interaction between the human body and digital technology is overgrowing and is also more widespread than we thought and is put to use in our everyday conduct. this contact can occur at any time , when you’re on the go when you’re at home even when you’re in a effective environment, I think it’s fair to say that more than a few of us engage in basic human interface on a daily basis.
A human interface device is a process that allows humans to interact with an electronic information system with the main intention of either contributing data or give the amount produced. The most common human interface devices include most of the following keyboards, mice, computer speakers, webcams and headsets. All computing appliance that are provided in an interface between the user and the pc machinery are all identified as human interface devices.

Self presentation using the internet

Using different forms of media and technology to generate a profile of yourself is highly common within our generation, individuals use sites such as face book, MySpace, bebo etc to develope a clear outlook of how they wish to be portrayed and also viewed upon by others. The way in which we wish to communicate changes immensely depending on whom we are talking to, we often moderate our language when engaging in different forms of  media related social interactions for instance as individuals we choose to communicate differently when talking with various types of people for instance the way in which we talk to our parents is different than the way we talk to our friends and the way we talk to our friends is extremely different then the way you conversation with your partner even when sending out emails you would choose to write formally if it is a important email or informally if you are writing to a close friend on a social basis.
Human beings are today being socially categorised through social networking sites, these sites paint very distinct pictures of particular groups of individuals and is the main cause of them being socially recognized. The affiliation between the internet and stereotypical images given out is one of an ongoing thing and has been around for many years. The internet is a form of because of its very fast way to receive and deliver information from all over the globe. It’s also known for collecting data and researched studies and statistics. As the internet is a very widely used interconnected system in many ways it tends to generate the stereotypes in people’s minds and make them inferior.
There are many representations of stereotypes shown to us through a variety of altered digital and social media. These characteristic that are publicized through video games and other forms of what we call social media, social media experiences the implication of interactions situating amongst individuals in which they construct , distribute, exchange, and comment about significant and insignificant topics. As a whole social media allows people of different demographical backgrounds to come together and engage and interact in fundamental communities and networks amongst themselves.
As the digital and media world continue to surround us with information and changes to society we are also obliged to look at certain identities and personalities visually specified to us by the mass media with the clear intentions of creating a somewhat vivid image in our minds of how they wish us to view those currently in the public eye. These identities and illustrations of people that are seemingly demoralized have the power to influence and even put pressure on our judgements based on that particular political party or individual. With regards to politics and self-presentation it’s fair to say that if viewers dislike the attitude of the main leader or representative they will base some of their judgement on that but mostly the medias interpretations of their political ideas expressed .

In The Direction Of Ubiquity

On the subject matter of technology we as the general public acknowledge that residents who live in the substantially wealthier parts of the world are more exposed to arrange of new digital technology. Although the wealthier parts are exploited to these latest findings of digital media we also are exposed to different forms of new technology and digital media.
In the world we live in today more and more things that affect our daily lives is being controlled by technology. As companies create new machineries to keep track of data and networking for instance when it comes to the financial side of things technology is often used when dealing with a chip and pin reader this is a somewhat latest invention and has been around for a couple of years. Although gadgets like this are mostly available to those who live in well off and developed.
In this day in age technology is circulating extremely and is also becoming a big part of society. with very large successful cooperation’s like apple, Microsoft, Sony etc competing it with each other in order to create new devices that will be highly successful within the market and also grab the attention of consumers. With all this said most of us regenerate technology within the comfort of our own home, for instance Wi-Fi is common amongst most households across the country as it is a source that allows you to use the internet without actually needing to plug in wires. This is just one of many household devices that is a form of technology other gadgets could be ones such as interactive games, TV, iPad, computers.
We live in a technological period of time were everything we do and engage in over the net is being watched by surveillances. This revelation makes you slightly wonder if we actually have any privacy. For instance social networking site ‘Facebook’ is used by billions of people around the globe and is a hugely successful in the market. However even though facebook might have a number of rules and set of laws on the subject of what you are allowed to post.

Changes In The Media

Ever since it can be remembered both media and technology form a close mutual bond, this is because they can both relate to each other one way or another. In recent years media and technology have equally started to change around several societies. Some might have positive views on these changes whilst others might argue otherwise. In relation to media change many devices have changed through generations with the latest smart phones brought to our attention such as the iphone which comes fully geared with a bunch of fascinating apps it also has a built in camera and as well as that it takes videos as do most other smart phones. In this technological world we are brought up in we are exposed to a variety of different media changes that are occurring around us seeing that modern day technology has developed over the current years as it has made it easier for people to contact the media in many altered traditions, such as through the television, by reading newspapers and by using the web.

Technology Through My Eyes

Even though different people might have mixed views and opinions regarding the world of technology I think that it’s fair to say that technology plays a major part in everyone’s day to day lives. It has transformed  the way people interact and keep in touch with each other using various forms of technology such as social networking, mobile phones, ipads, skype (web cam) etc.  In the society we live in today technology is very profound and plays a big role in the world of media and science
Looking at it from my prospective I would say that technology is the pure submission of skill, and is a very vital tool as it controls everything you do.  Technology is used to better your ability and also help you excel within the professional working world in addition to that it can be of assistance regardless of whether you are on the road at home, work or school it’s always at reach for example many institute’s use technology on a daily basis whilst teaching, they use gadgets such as interactive white boards, projectors and computers. At home and even within the professional world a lot of sectaries and business administrators send heaps of emails everyday to associates these are sent through several technological devices such as smart phones ipad’s and computers. One of the main objectives of technology is to better the lives of humans and assist them in collecting Data/information/sources/research and continue to enhance their knowledge and their capability.
Science media and technology have a close relationship and when all three are combined they have they tend to bond quite well together. Google which is one of the most popular American cooperation’s and is known for offering internet related services, recently created a new technical device which from their point of view is practical and could be highly beneficial. The device that they created is a mini computer that you strap on to your glasses and commute with, it has the same ability as a computer/laptop and phone put in one as some might argue and say that this creation is somewhat dehumanizing however from my outlook I would just say that I have a mixed opinion on this matter on side I feel that it’s good for Google to create a unique gadget that has never been seen before and yes it might be extremely useful when you’re on the go but however I strongly believe that Google is just trying to sell a product that is pointless just to make a profit.

Lets Talk Digital

As a university student studying journalism it would be in my best interest to enhance my knowledge on the topic by exploring different forms and areas of journalism. One of these being digital culture, digital culture is a modern form of journalism that crucially examines both the social and cultural of new digital media technologies. I chose to study digital cultures because it gives me a clear insight into technology and ways of bring together information using technology and other forms of the media mainly which is internet based.
Amongst other things a vital part of digital culture which students in particular come across now and again is academic blogging. Whilst studying media in college I came across many difficulties and things that challenged my ability one of which happens to be the art of internet blogging when I started off setting up my blog and writing my first post I found it all to be a bit of a blur and rather confusing but as time passed I got used to it and found it be quite an easy process. Internet blogging enables you to share assembled information with a clear elaboration on each topic as well as expressing your own opinion on the area under discussion. And if you choose to blog for an academic purpose you would often be asked to reference your work referencing is important as it shows that you have quoted or taken information from a reliable source and that you have not plagiarised your work.
People choose to blog for a number of different reasons whether it is for social usage in which case they use it to connect with friends and share things that are currently relevant or for academic usage often used to post essays and videos. Where education is concerned academic blogging is highly relevant and is a modern form of technology that helps you distribute information that people can read so in some ways it is similar to writing articles and reviews which are later published online for others to read.
